You don't have to be a millionaire to live the dream. Sometimes, you just need to be with the right person. Reuben and Joyce are two Singaporeans who - in March 2014 - began venturing on a year long trip across South America, Europe, Greece, Turkey, Nepal, China, Taiwan and Vietnam.
“If you want something you have never had, then you have to do something you have never done.”
Very often, we are afraid to take the first step in living our dreams.
There are simply too many things to consider and reconsider. The lack of financial resources, the opportunity cost involved in taking a gap year, the difficulty in seeking approval from our loved ones…
As difficult or impossible it may seem, there are still people who will shout “YOLO!”. GoBeyond.SG found Reuben (age 31) and Joyce (age 28)- , two young Singaporeans who decided that the best way to learn is to embark on an adventure, and to go loco! (crazy in Spanish).
The couple bought their Round The World (RTW) tickets in 2013 and embarked on a 365-day journey to live their dreams together. Letsgoloco.tumblr.com was founded by the couple to pen down and share their year-long journey to South America and Europe.
A sneak peek of their itinerary includes braving the cold in spectacular Patagonia, Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina, trekking in one of the world’s most beautiful national park – Torres Del Paine in Chile, then taking a dip in Laguna Cejar – the floating lagoon, hiking their way to the new 7 wonders Machu Picchu before they finally set foot in Europe. (see full itinerary)
As the saying goes, a picture speaks a thousand words – Reuben and Joyce based their website on a photo-diary of their travel. Their inspiring image gallery got us excited too!
